O BAFTA Game Awards revelou os jogos pré-selecionados para a premiação de 2025, destacando uma variedade de títulos que competem em 17 categorias, incluindo Melhor Jogo. Diferente do The Game Awards 2024, a organização do BAFTA optou por não incluir DLCs na categoria principal, deixando de fora a expansão Shadow of the Erdtree de Elden Ring. Embora elegível para a categoria Jogo em Evolução, a DLC também não conquistou uma vaga nessa categoria.
Curiosamente, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth da Square Enix não concorre na categoria Melhor Jogo, apesar de ser um dos favoritos ao TGA 2024. O título, no entanto, foi indicado em outras categorias, incluindo Melhor Narrativa. O BAFTA Game Awards destacou outros jogos na pré-seleção, como Balatro e Animal Well.
