Os indicados ao The Game Awards 2025 foram revelados, e a grande surpresa é o RPG francês Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, que se tornou o jogo mais indicado da história da premiação, com 12 nomeações, incluindo Jogo do Ano (GOTY). A Sony Interactive Entertainment foi a publisher mais forte, acumulando 19 indicações, impulsionada pelos aguardados Death Stranding 2: On the Beach e Ghost of Yotei, ambos com 8 indicações cada.

A votação do júri (composto pela imprensa especializada, incluindo o VGC, parceiro do Notícias da TV) define 90% do resultado, com os 10% restantes vindo da votação popular, que vai até 10 de dezembro.
